Tschabold Bert, 62, Elkhart Twp native, died last Thursday at his home in
LaPorte. Funeral was Saturday at Cosperville Baptist Church. Burial, Cosperville
Cemetery. + 8-?-1938
Tschabold David died at the residence of his son June 6, 1894, aged 79
years, 6 months and 11 days. He was born in Eallenbauch, Canton Berne,
Switzerland, Nov. 25, 1814. He made 3 trips across the ocean and with the
exception of a few years had been a resident of this state. He was a member of
the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Switzerland. He was married to Catharine
Eultcha in his native home. They had 7 children, 3 of whom remain
with their blind mother. Funeral at the residence. + 6-6-1894
Tschabold J Harry, about 69, died April 1, 1950 at his home
at Wawaka of a heart ailment. He is a former factory worker in Elkhart and moved
to Wawaka in retirement. He was a native of Cosperville. He is survived by his
widow, Louisa; one son, Ralph at Elkhart; 2 grandchildren; one brother, Fred of
Toledo; a sister, Mrs. Grace Lindsey of LaPorte. Funeral was Monday at Ligonier. Burial, Cosperville Cemetery. + 4-?-1950
Tschabold Mildred, 70, former resident, died Tuesday in a
Toledo, Ohio hospital of cancer. She was born May 19, 1901 in Ligonier to George
and Mary (Boss) Growcock and was married to Fred Tschabold, who preceded her in
death in 1963. She resided in Toledo for 25 years. Surviving are a son, Willis,
Maumee, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Wilma Besse, Minn.; two brothers, Carl,
Elkhart, and Thurlow, Plymouth; and three grandchildren. Services Friday

Tucker Ann, 73, was born August 6, 1938, in Topeka, Kansas, to
Erick and Catherine (Cook) Thulin and died July 13, 2012, at Texoma Medical
Center in Denison, Texas. She came to Sherman in 1999. She worked many
years as a pharmacy clerk in Indiana, and was employed at Barrett Drug in
Denison for 3 1/2 years. She also ventured as a bank teller for 3 years.
She married Bon D. Tucker in 1958 at Albion. He died in October
2005. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She was also
preceded in death by a half-brother, Troy Lee Thulin. She leaves behind
her son, Wayne A. Tucker of Albion; daughter, Nicole “Nikki” Tucker of
Wichita, Kan.; granddaughter, Lindsaie M. Tucker of Albion; grandson, Devon M.
Tucker of Albion; half-sister, Sondra Thulin Fairres of Miami, Okla.;
half-brother, Rick E. Thulin of Yukon, Okla.; great-granddaughter, Aven E. Marti
of Albion. Funeral Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Local

Tucker Arra (Stage), 68, widow of Carl R. Tucker, died at her home in
South Bend on Jan. 13. Funeral at a South Bend funeral home Wednesday.

of Elkhart, Ellen, wife of Dr. E. B. Porter of South Bend; one son, Edwin of

Tucker Athalea M, 88, died Saturday in Shepherd of the Hill nursing home,
Kendallville. She was born November 2, 1910 in Noble County to Permeanus
and Zora (Williams) Fry. On January 14, 1933 in LaGrange she married Ora
L. Tucker. He died January 28, 1979. A lifetime area resident, she
was retired from Lyall Electric in Albion where she was a receptionist.
She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Solo Club, Noble County Council
on Aging and Jefferson Twp Homemakers Club. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.
Paul (Rhonda) Johnson of Albion; a son, Bon D. of Bells, Texas; 4 grandchildren;
6 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister, Alberta Warnick of
Columbia City. She was preceded in death by a brother, Valmont Fry; and 2
sisters, Vesta Knapp and Hawaii Bartels. Funeral Tuesday in St. Mark's

Tucker Beverly, 61, Huntertown, died July 6 at her home. Born in Garrett,
she had lived in Huntertown since about 1941. She was the daughter of Lawrence
Andrews of Garrett. Surviving are her husband, Conrad "Cooney" Tucker;
and two daughters, Barbara Dice and Janet Foremen, Fort Wayne; five brothers,
Carl and Richard Andrews, Garrett, Robert Andrews, Bryan, Texas, Ralph Andrews, Osceola,
and Erle Andrews of Auburn; and seven grandchildren. Services July 9 in D.

Tucker Blanche, 78, (b. 4-15-1883) of R. 2, Albion, died at
LaGrange County Hospital, Oct. 11, 1961 after suffering a stroke. Survivors
include a daughter, Lura at home; 4 sons, Forrest of Berne, Herman, Harry and
Ora of R. 2, Albion; and 10 grandchildren. Her husband, Charles, died in March

Tucker Bon D, 69, formerly of Albion, died Oct. 31, 2005 in Bells,
Texas. He was a longtime supervisor for Dexter Axle and worked as a
construction contractor in Texas. A member of the Air National Guard and
the U.S. Air Force, he was also a member of American Legion Post 240 in Albion
and Trinity Lutheran Church in Sherman, Texas. He was born in Wolf Lake to
Ora and Athalea (Fry) Tucker. On Nov. 29, 1958 in Albion he married
Ann Thulin. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Nichole, of Wichita, Kan.;
a son, Wayne of Albion; a sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Paul Johnson of
Albion; and 2 grandchildren, Lindsaie and Devon Tucker. Services Saturday

Tucker Burnis M, 63, LaOtto and formerly of Albion, died in the St.
Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, Sunday. She was born in Noble County Sept.
8, 1904 to Elias and Lotta Haag. In 1922 she was married to James M. Tucker, who
died in 1949. She had lived her entire lifetime in the Albion area until moving
to LaOtto last year. Survivors include three sons, Ernest, R. 4, Albion, Jesse,
Wolcottville, and Harold, Churubusco; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Lila) Phovemire,
Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Kent (Helen) Sorg, Burgoon, Ohio; 29 grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren. One brother, Guy Haag, and one sister, Mrs. Disa
Muller, both of Churubusco, also survive. Services Wednesday in the

Tucker Carl R, 68, son of the late Dr. H. G. and Lydia C. Tucker, was
born March 14, 1877 in Cromwell, and died March 5 at his home in South Bend. He
is survived by his widow, Ava; 2 daughters, Mrs. Cordelia Gordon of Elkhart,
and Mrs. E. B. Porter of South Bend; one son, Edwin of South Bend; 6
grandchildren; a brother, S. B. of Cromwell. Funeral was in South Bend this

Tucker Charles W, about 79, (b. 3-16-1881) died March 7, 1961 following a heart attack at the grain elevator in
Albion. He was a lifelong resident of Noble County. Survivors include the widow

Berne; a daughter, Lura at home; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one

Tucker David "Ted", 69, of R. 1, LaGrange, died March 25 at LaGrange Hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1918 in Noble County
to David A. and Flavia Albert Tucker. On June 21, 1986 he married Margaret
Tritch. He was retired as a guard from the Security Co. in Calif. and a was
member of the LaGrange Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Margaret; a
son, David of Montclair, Calif.; 2 stepdaughters, Mary Jane Parker of
LaGrange, and Anita Smith of Colorado Springs; a stepson, Ed Deam of Avilla; 2
brothers, Woodward of Tarboro, N.C., and George of Jackson, Mich.; 3

Tucker David A, 91, died Sunday in the Kendallville Nursing Home. He had
formerly lived in Albion. He was born June 16, 1885 in Allen County to Namon and
Martha Ann (Kister) Tucker and married Flavia Ionia Albert June 12, 1912.
She died in March 1945. He spent most of his life near Merriam. Survivors
include four daughters, Mrs. Joe (Phyllis) Brumbaugh, Churubusco, Mrs. Carl
(Alice) Trumbull, Albion, Mrs. Mary Claxton, Columbia City, and Mrs. Paul
(Deloris) Brumbaugh, Avilla; three sons, David, California, Woodward, Tarboro,
N.C., and George, LaGrange; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Strickland, Columbus, Ohio;
26 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Services Wednesday in

Tucker Dawson, 73, pioneer resident of Merriam and sexton of Christian
Chapel Cemetery, died Dec. 3 from complications. He had resided in Allen
and Noble Counties since early boyhood. Surviving are his widow, formerly Martha
Ann Kister; 3 sons, Charles, David and James of Noble County; 3 sisters,
Mrs. Amanda Ohlwine of Noble County, Mrs. Mary Wilkins of Churubusco, Mrs.
Fannie Strickland of Galena Ohio. Herman Tucker, teacher in Albion

Tucker Dorothy Jane Deam, 70, of R. 1, LaGrange, died Sunday at McCray Hospital. She was born Oct. 18, 1915 in Noble County, the
daughter of John and Cloe (Chapman) Murphy. Her first husband, Carl Deam,
preceded her in death. She then married David Tucker. Surviving are her husband;
a daughter, Mrs. Mike (Mary Jane) Parker of Hudson; 3 sons, Robert Deam of
Auburn, Wayne Deam of Waterloo, and Eddie Deam of LaGrange; a stepson, David
Tucker of Montclair, Calif.; 4 sisters, Leila Reidel of Topeka, Betty Trowl
and May Hickman of Albion, and Mary Hughes of New Haven; 2 brothers, Floyd of
Albion and George of Cleveland, Ohio; and 5 grandchildren. A son, a sister and 4

attended the New Life Tabernacle in Kendallville. He was born in Kendallville on Aug.
1, 1973, to Jesse Tucker and Hazel (Frain)Tucker Samples. Surviving are two sisters, Colleen
Vanschoyck of Talcum, Ky., and Tresha Kelley of Kendallville; and five
brothers,Donald Tucker of Peru, Dowine and
Janie Tucker of Rome City, James Dawson and Julie Tucker of Kendallville,
Randy Tucker of Fort Wayne and Richard and Sheila Tucker of Kendallville. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Tucker and Marion Tucker; and two sisters,

Tucker Ernest G, 83, died Aug. 24, 2006 in Veterans Hospital in Fort
Wayne. He was born July 10, 1923 in Noble County to James and Burnis (Haag)
Tucker. He married Mary Nicodemus on Jan. 1, 1956 in Albion. She
died Feb. 19, 2005. He was a mechanic and a member of Green Chapel
Church. A veteran of WW II, he was a member of Columbia City Eagles Lodge
#1906. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, James and Nila of Rome
City; 4 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Pamela Rissner and Tami and Bill McKinley
of Kendallville, Penny and David James of Albion, and Becky Pavlidis of Fort
Wayne; 2 stepsons; a sister, Lila Phovemire, Lincoln, Neb.; 21 grandchildren and
25 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen

Tucker Forest J, 66, of 535 Diamond St., Huntington, died
today (d. 3-9-1984) in the Bluffton Clinic. He was born Feb. 24, 1918 in
Noble County and lived in Albion until moving to Huntington 4 years ago. He was
a retired accountant for Noble County REMC and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Jane; a daughter, Diana Smith of Texas; a son, Charles
of Huntington; a stepdaughter; 3 stepsons; and a sister, Lura of Albion.

Tucker Gary W, of Corunna, died Jan. 15, 2011, at his residence.
He was born in Kendallville on Aug. 27, 1946, to Jesse and Hazel B. (Frain) Tucker.
He married Dorla Kay Smith on April 15, 1967 in LaGrange.
He was employed with Federal-Mogul in Avilla for 14 years. He also owned
and operated Tucker Tree Service for more than 30 years. He was a member of the
Beacon Baptist Church in Kendallville and the Sons of the American Legion Post
381 in Rome City. Surviving are his wife; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and John Burns of Connersville and
Tanya and Terry Kryder of Waterloo; one granddaughter; his mother, Hazel Tucker
Samples of Kendallville; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Colleen and Philes
VanSchoyck of Bulan, Ky., and Tresha Kelley of Kendallville; 6 brothers and a
sister-in-law, Donald Tucker of Peru, James Dawson Tucker of Kendallville,

Tucker H G, 93, our oldest citizen, having passed the 93 milestone, was
the last Civil War veteran of this community. Funeral was Friday from
the home. Surviving are sons S. B., H. P. north of town, and Carl of South Bend;
2 granddaughters and one grandson from a deceased daughter; several
grandchildren from the living members and 9 great-grandchildren. He was a member
of the Cromwell Methodist Church and Ligonier Masonic Lodge. He had practiced

employee of the Indiana State Highway Dept. since 1961. Formerly of Churubusco,
he had moved to Fort Wayne recently. He was born March 27, 1936 in Noble County

born March 5, 1907 to Charles and Blanche (Johnson) Tucker. He married Pauline
Gaff October 17, 1936. He was a lifetime Noble County resident and retired in
1976 from Lyall Electric. Surviving are his wife; five daughters, Joy Peterson,

Tucker Herman D, 73, of R. 2, Albion, died May 12,
1974 at Whitley County Hospital. He had taught at the Cherry and Huckleberry
Schools before his long engagement in Albion. He was born Feb. 24, 1901, the son
of Charles & Blanche (Johnson) Tucker. He married Irene Carter on Nov. 27,
1928. He was a teacher in Albion-Jefferson School for 44 years, teaching the 6th
grade until his retirement in 1966. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran
Church and former member of Indiana Retired Teachers’ Association. Surviving
are his wife, Irene; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Linda of Port
Clinton, Ohio; one sister, Lura of Albion; 3 brothers, Harry and Ora of R. 2,
Albion, and Forest of R. 4, Albion; 3 grandchildren. Funeral at St.

Tucker James, 32, died at his home in Knox on Nov. 26 from uremic
poisoning. He received his master’s degree from Purdue University and had been
a coach and teacher in the Knox City School System the past 10 years. He was a
member of Knox Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and South Bend Scottish Rite and
Shrine in Hammond. Surviving are his widow; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul

Emma Dixon. She married Forest Tucker Aug. 16, 1941 in Paulding, Ohio. She was
an Albion resident for 13 years, employed at Miller’s Truck Stop and was a
member of Merriam Christian Chapel. Surviving are her husband; her mother; a
daughter, Mrs. Diane J. Smith, Orange, Tex.; a son, Charles E. at home; a

Tucker Jesse, 52, R. 1, Wolcottville, died Tuesday in the VA
Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born in Merriam Aug. 27, 1924, the son of James and
Burnis (Haag) Tucker. He married Hazel Frain in Albion Dec. 5, 1945. He
lived in Albion most of his life, moving to Wolcottville 15 years ago. He was a
member of the Rome City Post 381 American Legion. Survivors are the wife; three
daughters, Mrs. Colleen VanSchoyck, Talcum, Key., Mrs. Lavancha Willits
and Mrs. Tresha Kelly, both Wolcottville; six sons, Gary, Albion, Marion,

Tucker L Irene, 85, of near Merriam, died Tuesday in Miller's Merry
Manor, Columbia City. She was born August 2, 1907 in Tunker to Otis and
Mae (Connell) Carter. On November 27, 1928 she married Herman D. Tucker,
an Albion school teacher, and they spent their entire married life on their farm
near Merriam. He died May 12, 1974. A graduate of Columbia City High
School, she was a homemaker. Surviving are a son, Roger of Merriam; a
brother, David Carter of Albion; 3 grandchildren, Christina Trumbull, Amy Reeve
and Chad Tucker; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3
sisters, Elizabeth Gordon, Mary Shaffer and Helen Pounds. Funeral Friday

and Dorothea (Wilhelm) Beyerlene. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church
and retired employee of Kraft Foods. Surviving are her husband, Laurel; 2
daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Laverne) Racht, Palos Verdis, Calif., and Mrs. John
(Marlene) Sturgis, Kendallville; one son, Lawrence Dietrich, Kendallville; one
sister, Mrs. Christa Small, Hollywood, Fla.; 2 stepsons, Larry and Richard

Tucker Leona Eileen Theurer Marsack Link, 87, of Ontario, Calif., and
formerly of Corunna, died March 1, 2008 in Ontario. She graduated from
Kendallville High School in 1938 and St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Fort
Wayne in 1942. She worked at various hospitals and retired from Lanterman
State Hospital in Montclair, Calif. She was a member of First Baptist
Church in Pomona, Calif. She and Jack Theurer had a daughter. She
married Thomas Marsack. They had a son. She married Ted Link and
then Theodore Tucker. She was born Nov. 17, 1920 in Kendallville to
Fredrick Henry and Iva Belle (Bloomfield) Murphy. Surviving are a
daughter, Marjadene M Seidel of Salt Lake City, Utah; 2 sons, Thomas Marsack of
San Bernardino County, Calif., and David Tucker of Los Angeles, Calif.; 5
grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by Jack Theurer, Ted Link and Theodore Tucker; 3 sisters,
Doris Kirchner, Martha Floyd and Kathleen Clark. Graveside services later

Tucker Lois E, 64, of R. 1, Cree Lake, died Tuesday at her
residence. Born in Kendallville Aug. 27, 1922, she was the daughter of G. Walter
and Helen (Dalman) Seaney. On May 17, 1914 she married Phil Tucker. She was a
lifetime Kendallville resident except for 2 years when she lived in Auburn. She
was a member of First Christian Church, VFW Auxiliary and Delta Theta Tau Alumni
Sorority of Kendallville. Surviving are her husband; her mother; 2 daughters,
Linda Lanning of Angola, and Jane of Kendallville; a son, Jim of Kendallville; a

home. She was born October 4, 1903 in Noble County, to Charles and Blanche
(Johnson) Tucker. A 1922 graduate of Wolf Lake High School, she worked at
various places as a bookkeeper. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Athalea
Tucker of Kendallville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded
in death by 4 brothers, Herman, Ora, Forrest and Harry Tucker; and a sister,

Beach, Fla. He was born March 10, 1901 on a farm near Cromwell, Ind. On June 27,

1958. Surviving are his wife and a sister, Mrs. Joyce Hontz of Cromwell. He was
a member of Knox United Methodist Church and Lodge No. 639 F&AM, Scottish
Rite of South Bend, and Knox Kiwanis Club. He served as Knox town clerk 1944-47,
assistant clerk of Starke County Highway 1947-48, and auditor of Starke County

he died in 1982. A lifetime county resident, she was a homemaker and member of

residence. He was born near South Milford Oct. 14, 1921, the son of G. A. and

Seaney who died Sept. 30, 1986. A lifetime area resident, he was a retired superintendent
of Kendallville Foundry and a WW II veteran. He was a member of First Christian
Church and Kendallville VFW. Surviving are 2 daughters, Linda Lanning of Angola,
and Jane Tucker of Kendallville; a son, Jim of Kendallville; 2 sisters, Myrl

Tucker S Brent, 83, retired Cromwell banker and hardware merchant, died Nov. 13, 1952, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 18
days, in Fort Wayne Methodist Hospital of a coronary occlusion. A lifelong
resident of the Cromwell community, he is survived by his wife, Mae; 2
daughters, Mrs. Mildred Calbeck of Ligonier, and Mrs. Lois Smith of South Bend;

Tucker Susanah (Wendle) was born in Fayette County, Ohio June 11, 1836;
was married to Richard Tucker in 1855. They had 3 daughters and
one son. Two daughters survive, Mrs. Martha Zimmerman of Los Angeles, Cal., and
Mrs. Levina Ritchie of this city, where she has made her home for 13 years. She
died Feb. 10, aged 72 years 7 months and 29 days. She was a member of the Church
of God, uniting with the Ruckman Church in Whitley County in 1879. Remaining are
2 daughter, 3 brothers, one sister, and 13 grandchildren. Funeral was from the

Tuffley Jesse, 89, died Sept. 25, 2007 at his Kendallville
residence. He had been employed with Gateway Trucking as safety
superintendent, the city of Kendallville as street superintendent and had worked
at Quick Tanks and retired in 1976 as custodian at Wayne Center School. He
graduated from Makokata High School in Iowa in 1936 and served in the U.S. Army
during WW II. He was a member of American Legion Post 86, VFW Post 2749,
Disabled American Veterans and Trinity Church United Methodist. He was
born in Calmar, Iowa on April 16, 1918 to Jess George and Inez Mabel (Willis)
Tuffley. He married Monna Marie Moore on Dec. 10, 1947 in Prairie du Chien, Wis. Surviving are his wife; 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Robert
and Pam Tuffley of Big Long Lake, Ronald and Sharon Tuffley of Stroh and Charles
Tuffley of Kendallville; 2 daughters, Patricia and Dr. Michael Cox of

retired Army officer whose rank was chief warrant officer. He was a veteran of
WW II, member of State Center Iowa Masonic Lodge 276 and received the Legion of

Church. He was a member of the famous state champion football team of 1902.

Hospital. She was born in Smith Twp, Whitley County, April 16, 1902, the
daughter of David O. and Rose (McCoy) Richards. On September 10, 1919 she
married Chester L. Tulley. He died February 26, 1974. She had lived
most of her life in the Churubusco area and was a member of Beacon Light Chapel
and a 50-year member of Churubusco American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving
are 2 daughters, Harriet Fisher of Churubusco and Marilyn Owen of Avilla; a son,
Kemal of Fort Wayne; a sister, Mrs. Earlin (Inabelle) Pippenger of Albion; 22

Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Churubusco December 26, 1932, he
was the son of Chester and Bertha (Richards) Tulley. On May 2, 1952 in
Mill Valley, Calif., he married Polly Lewis. He moved to LaGrange 14 years
ago and was a trucker driver for Knepper-Cartage in Fort Wayne. He was a
Korean Conflict U.S. Air Force veteran; a member of American Legion Post 330 in
New Haven; and attended Salem Center Presbyterian Church. Surviving are
his wife; his mother; 2 daughters, Susan of Toledo, Ohio, and Carla at home; 2
sons, Mikel and Chester of New Haven; 3 sisters, Marilyn Owen and Phyllis

24, 1925 in St. Joseph, Mich., she married Melvin J. Tully. He died in
1990. She and her husband were part owners of Gill Hotel in Ligonier in
1945 and 1946. They moved to Fort Wayne in 1946. Surviving are a

Road Drivers. He was an accomplished musician on saxophone and

Tully Wilbur Orlo, 48, who retired as chief of police here early this
year because of ill health, died Sunday at his home. He was born Nov. 15,
1908, southeast of Benton, a son of Henry and Laura Tully. He operated a
D-X service station here and was a member of the Solomon Creek EUB Church, the
Elks, Eagles and Lions organizations and served as a Ligonier fireman. He
was a veteran of WW II, serving as a seaman second class. Surviving are
his wife, the former Martha Simmons, to whom he was married Oct. 9, 1926; a
daughter, Mrs. G. H. Patrick, one granddaughter; 2 sisters, Mrs. Guy Longcort

Tumbleson Lana J died April 18, 2013 at her home in Albion. She was born in Kendallville on May
28, 1951, and was one of 3 children born to William Bushong and Carol
(Pierce) McMurray. She graduated from Albion-Jefferson High School in the class of 1969. She
was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Ravenscroft
Beauty College. For the past 17 years, she worked at Parker Hanafin in Albion. On December 27, 1994, she married

Tumbleson Nancy committed suicide by hanging herself in the smokehouse at
her residence on the Hawpatch May 11, 1881. She was the daughter of William
Hilmeth, born in Pickaway County, Ohio in 1818 and came to Noble County in the
fall of 1835. She first married William Hamilton, who died in 1849. By this
marriage there were 7 children, 3 of whom are dead. She married James Tumbleson
in 1853, who is still living. They lived near Rochester. Funeral was at Eden

Tumlinson Berneice Herron, 76, of Wolf Lake, died Sunday at
Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born Jan. 5, 1906 in Hale, Mich. to Frank
B. and Rhena (Hile) Marker. Her first husband, Carl Herron, died Oct. 11, 1956.
Her second husband, Latta Tumlinson, died in 1979. She had been a lifetime
Albion-Wolf Lake area resident and was a member of the Wolf Lake Seventh Day
Adventist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Joan Meyers of Huntington; 4
stepdaughters, Mrs. Al Steffe of Wolcottville, Mrs. Phil Hurley of R. 8,

County Hospital. Born in Union Twp, Whitley County to Edward and Kit Tumlinson,
he was raised in Wolf Lake by Mr. and Mrs. Luke Tumlinson, his grandparents. On
April 22, 1932 he married Velma R. Dazey in 1967. He married Berneice
Theordosa Marker Herron in Auburn on April 23, 1970. He was a retired employee
of the Noble County Highway Dept. and a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist
Church in Wolf Lake. Surviving are his wife; a son, David L., Oakwood,
Ohio; 4 stepdaughters, Mrs. William R. (Betty) Harrison, Fort Wayne, Mrs. Keith
(Joanna) McClure, Elkhart, Mrs. Phil (Theodora) Hurley, R. 8, Columbia City, and

the age of 2. She had been a resident of Wolf Lake 35 years. She was married to
Latta Tumlinson April 22, 1932. She was employed as cook at Wolf Lake High

the home of his son, Lloyd, in Garrett Nov. 4, 1926, from heart trouble, aged 60

had 3 boys and 2 girls. He worked on the section of the B&O RR for a number of years and lived in Albion for

Turner Glenn E was born May 18, 1899 near Butler to Perry and Meda
(Oberlin) Turner. He married Mary Ellen Gray in LaOtto Dec. 28, 1941. He was a
LaOtto resident and retired barber. He operated the LaOtto Texaco service
station until 1957 then operated a barber shop until January 1969. He was a WW I
veteran and attended the Spring St. Wesleyan Church in Fort Wayne. Surviving are
the wife, a son, Bruce, LaPorte, one sister, Helen Rancy, Butler; and two

Lake VFW 4717. He was born in Tell City on April 16, 1941 to Cy and

his home. A native of Chapmanville, W. Va., he had lived in Fort Wayne 30 years
and had practiced in Wolf Lake for many years as a chiropractor. Survivors are a

Turner Mary E, one of the oldest residents of Auburn, died on
Thanksgiving Day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haines of 606 S. Indiana
Ave. She had lived there for the past seven years. Mrs. Turner was 86 years, 10
months and 4 days old. She was born January 22, 1856 in Richland County, Ohio
and came to Indiana with her parents at the age of 2 years. The family located
on a farm 3 miles west of Garrett, where Freeman Kelham, a nephew, now resides.
She spent her whole life in DeKalb County except for about 14 years in
southwestern Missouri. She was married on November 29, 1874 to David H. Turner,
deceased. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. L. E. Nicholson of Garrett; two
sons, Ernest E. of Grant Twp, DeKalb County, and George E. of 1310 N. Anthony
Blvd, Fort Wayne. The deceased was the last of a family of 13 children born to
Edward and Sarah Downend Kelham. In addition to the three children, there are
five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Death came
Thursday from complications due to old age. She was a charter member of
the Christian Church of Garrett. She also was a member of the WCTU. The body

Turner Mildred of Bellville, Mich., died July 29. A former
resident of Kendallville, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Huff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, in 1976. Surviving is a

Turner Robert, 79, of R. 4, Albion, died Monday in Davenport, Fla. He was born in Jackson, Ky., May 2, 1904, the son of John S. and
Mary (Spencer) Turner. On July 13, 1940 in Jackson he married Mildred E.
Fletcher who died Dec. 30, 1980. He moved from Jackson to Noble County in 1940.
He retired in 1969 from Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire Co., Fort Wayne where he was a
crane operator. He was a member of Lincolnway Church of Christ in Columbia City.

Tutorow Vara, 75, a native of Allen County, was born July 14, 1898, to
Milton and Bertha (Spitler) Hollopeter. She married William Mitchener in 1919
and lived in North Vernon. He preceded her in death. In 1956 she married
Clarence Tutorow, Fairmount. He died in 1958. She then moved to her present home
in Green Twp in 1959. She was a member of the Green Center Wesleyan Church. She
died last Thursday in Whitley County Hospital. She is survived by

daughter in Topeka. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and had retired
from Newnam Foundry in Kendallville in 1986 after 23 years of service. He
was a 30-year resident of Kendallville. He was born November 24, 1924 to
William and Minerva (Lewis) Tuttle. On July 1, 1948 in Prestonsburg, Ky.,
he married Louise Collins, who died April 28, 1986. He married Mary
Johnson in Kendallville in 1991 and she survives in LaGrange. Also
surviving are 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra K. and Harrison Hicks of
Topeka, Sheila and James Slone of Mount Sterling, Ky., and Linda and
Denver Sparkman of Albion; 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Farrell and Kathy

County, Iowa. On Oct. 17, 1876 Laura Belle Thompson became the wife of Albert B.

of multiple injuries sustained after being struck by a car Friday night. The
rural Churubusco man was standing on Indiana Highway 3, north of Fort Wayne,
exchanging information about an earlier minor accident with another motorist. He
was employed at Wayne Warehousing & Cartage, Fort Wayne. He was a member of
the Church of the Brethren and the Fort Wayne American Legion Post 499.

east of Kendallville on U.S. 6 where he had farmed 36 years, seven years ago to
R. 1, Rome City. He had been employed by McCray for 14 years. He was a member of
Wayne Center United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs.
James (Elaine) Minor of Turkey Lake, LaGrange County; a son, David P. of
Knoxville, Tenn.; 7 sisters, Wanda Hartman of Waterloo, Juanita Smith of
Kendallville, Emma Witt of Leo, Audrey Immel of Auburn, Maxine Immel of Butler,
Ruby Schurr of Hudson, and Marvel Ehresman of Fort Wayne; brother, Merrit

Tutwiler Mary, 94, formerly of Lake Wawasee, died today in
Defiance Hospital, Defiance, Ohio. She was born Jan. 22, 1893 in Attica, Ohio,
the daughter of William and Ella Drew. She was married to Earl Bloomfield, Brian
Goodwin, Charles Mock and Herman Tutwiler, who all preceded her in death. She
had lived in the Lake Wawasee area from 1944 to 1977 and was a member of
Friendly Neighbor Club and Christ Lutheran Church, Continental, Ohio. Surviving
are 2 daughters, Agnes of Continental, and Deloris Goble of Jacksonville, Fla.;
3 sons, Samuel Bloomfield of Syracuse, Earl Jr. and Sherman Bloomfield of Fort

96, of Albion, died January 10, 2013, at Northridge Village in Albion. She was born on April 30, 1916, in
Algier, Ohio, to Gary and Lottie (Wooten) Crist. She married Dolph Tuvell on
October 19, 1935. He died in 1959. She then married Maurice
Kinnison in June of 1962. She is survived by 3 sons, Dolph
(Janet) Tuvell Jr. of Syracuse, James E. (Betty) Tuvell of Ligonier and Dennis
L. (Marilyn) Tuvell of Ligonier; one daughter, Brenda K. (Thomas) Gaerte of
Wawaka; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her

Twaits Arthur Roy, 85, of R. 1, Wolcottville, died in Miller's Merry
Manor, LaGrange, Tuesday. He was born in Noble County March 16, 1907 to

married Thelma Young. She died in 1970. He was retired from Sealed
Power in LaGrange and was a member of Woodruff Grove United Methodist

Village Nursing Home, Ligonier. He was born Dec. 30, 1898 in Noble County, a son

Twaits M Scott, 25, died Aug. 10 in Parkview Hospital, Fort
Wayne, following an auto accident on Saturday. He was born in Kendallville on
Jan. 12, 1972 to Melvin and Jo Ann (Meade) Twaits. His father survives in
Kimmell and his mother and stepfather, Jo Ann and David Goodman, in LaGrange. A
U. S. Army veteran, he was a member of Bethel Christian Baptist Church.

Twaits Melvin E, 83, died Dec. 10, 2009 at Rivercrest Specialty Hospital
in Mishawaka, Ind. He retired as a maintenance supervisor at Essex Wire
and United Technologies after more than 30 years of service. He served his
country in the Navy 1942-1966. He was a member of the American Legion Post
243 in Ligonier. He was born July 9, 1926 in Noble County to John R and
Lora (Hart) Twaits. Surviving are 2 daughters, Sarah and Ron Browning of
Bear Lake and Melanie and Jeff Creek of Huntertown; 4 granddaughters, Carla
Ladig, Gracie and Cierra Creek and Brandi Twaits; one great-grandson, Kyle

Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, following a 2-car crash on U. S. 33 northwest of
Churubusco. She was southbound en route to her job at the Dana Corporation when
she apparently did not see a vehicle attempting to make a left turn soon enough,
causing the accident. A native of Cromwell, she was born Aug. 8, 1908, a
daughter of George and Frances Oliva Earll Kiester. A lifetime
resident of Noble County, she married Clarence Piper, who died in 1940. In 1946
she married Rollie Twaits. She had been employed at Dana for 3 years. Surviving

Hospital. She was born February 28, 1928 in Kendallville to Alpha and Anna
(Gamber) Bainbridge. On April 8, 1963 in Wolcottville, she married Robert
A. Tyler. She was a homemaker and nurse's aide at Kendallville Manor
Health Care Center for 3 years, previously working as a secretary in several
offices. Years ago she was a violinist with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic
Orchestra, and with her husband played at area nursing homes. Surviving
are her husband; a daughter, Donnabelle Tyler of Kendallville; 2 sons, Donald
Fleck of Middlebury and Dennis Fleck of Albion; a half-sister, Mary Ellen

Tyler Caroline, daughter of Mark and Harriet Wilson, was born in Center
County, Pa. April 21, 1823. She moved with her parents to Wayne County, Ohio in
1836, being then 13 years of age. She married Lorenzo Tyler Aug. 5, 1847 and
moved to Noble County in 1848. They had 11 children, 7 of whom
with the husband survive. She also leaves one sister, 4 brothers 7 grandchildren
and 2 great-grandchildren. She died June 5 at the home in which she had lived
the last 49 years, aged 79 years 1 month and 16 days. She was a member of the
Methodist Episcopal Church for over 63 years. Funeral at the home June 7.

Tyler Charles fell from an apple tree a few months ago in such a manner
as to bruise his hip, producing an abscess. He gradually grew worse until
last Friday (d. 1-26-1900) when death came. He was aged 37 years, 2 months 17
days. He leaves a wife and two sons. Services were held at the U.B. Church Sunday. The remains were taken to Kendallville on

Tyler Francena, 76, lifelong resident of Noble County, died at her home
in Kendallville Thursday. She was born June 4, 1854 at Lisbon,
the daughter of Lorenzo and Caroline Tyler. In infancy her parents, who were
pioneers of Noble County, moved to the Tyler homestead just west of Lisbon. She moved to Kendallville some 28 years ago.
Surviving are 2 sisters, Mrs. Jennie Brouse, and Mrs. Carrie Black of Orange

Tyler James J "Toby", 74, of 2802 Valley View Dr.,
Huntington, died Sunday in Miller’s Merry Manor, Huntington.
Born July 19, 1913 in Huntington, he was the son of Earl and Alice (Snyder)
Tyler. On July 3, 1941 in Kendallville he married Margaret "Peg"
Berhalter. A former resident of Angola and Kendallville, he was co-owner of L.
E. Berhalter & Sons Funeral Home, Kendallville, for 15 years. He was also a
sales representative for the casket industry for 35 years, retiring in 1986. He
was a 1935 graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, a member of First
Presbyterian Church in Huntington, Beta Theta Pi and Delta Sigma Pi
fraternities, and first president of the Kendallville Jaycees. Surviving are his

Tyler Jason K, 74, native of Ohio and a resident of Rome City the last 45
years, died last night at his home in Rome City from cancer and complications.
He was born in Springfield, O., Dec. 25, 1859, the son of the late Capt. and
Mrs. John L. Tyler. He made his home alone here, worked as a machinist and
repairman. His father was a well-known penman and for several years was head of
the penmanship department of the Fort Wayne schools. Eight nieces and nephews
and a son survive. A daughter, one brother and 2 sisters preceded him in death.

Tyler Lorenzo was born in Wayne County, Ohio Aug. 22, 1819 and died near
Lisbon May 30 at the age of 83 years 9 months and 8 days. He married Caroline
Wilson Aug. 5, 1847. She died June 5, 1902. They had 11 children, 7 of
whom survive, 4 sons and 3 daughter. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, 3
great-grandchildren, one sister and one brother. In 1845 he first visited
Indiana, returning to Ohio soon afterwards, where he remained until 1848 when he
moved with his family to Noble County and in 1853 to the farm on which he died,
having lived here the last 50 years of his life. Funeral was at the residence on
Monday. Burial, family lot in Lisbon Cemetery. All the children were
present except Dayton of Nebraska and Charles who is in South America. ^

moved with her parents to Shelby County, Ohio in 1834. She was married to John
Tyler May 10, 1847. They moved to Perry Twp in 1864,

61 years, 7 months and 12 days. They had 7 boys and 3 girls, four

Tyler Robert A, 75, of Kendallville, died Tuesday in Parkview Hospital in
Fort Wayne. He was born in Kendallville on January 28, 1921 to Harley T.
and Ruth S. (Luttman) Tyler. On April 8, 1963 in Wolcottville, he married
Alphabelle Bainbridge. She died May 19, 1993. A lifetime area
resident he had been a farmer and owned and operated Tyler Security Service in
Kendallville. He was a WW II Air Force veteran and a member of American
Legion Post 318, Rome City, VFW and DAV. Surviving are a son, William of
Kendallville; a stepdaughter, Donnabell Tyler of Kendallville; 2 stepsons, Don
and Dennis Fleck; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral
Friday in Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home. Burial, Salem Cemetery. +

Tyler Ruth S, 84 of Kendallville, died Saturday in
Kendallville Manor. She was born in Corunna Nov. 5, 1903, the daughter of Amos
and Catherine (Harding) Luttman. On June 28, 1919 in Kendallville she married
Harley T. Tyler. He died June 13, 1969. A lifetime Kendallville area resident,
she was a member of First Baptist Church in Kendallville. Surviving are a son,
Robert A. of R. 3, Kendallville; a sister, Bitha Mason; and a brother, Jess; a
grandchild and 10 great-grandchildren. One sister preceded her in death.
Services Tuesday in Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home, Kendallville.

Tyler Sophia (Whisman) was born Feb. 6, 1842 in Ohio, and died July 19, 1929, age 86 years, 5 months and 13 days. She
married George Tyler Nov. 14, 1861. He died Nov. 14, 1902. They had ten children, 5 preceding her in death. She leaves one sister, Mrs.
Jane Mayfield of Mishawaka; 2 sons and 3 daughters, Henry of Ligonier, Eben of
Toledo, Ohio, Elizabeth Downing of Indianapolis, Mae VanAuken of Auburn, Ind.,
and Mrs. Frank Woodworth of Goshen; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and
3 great-great-grandchildren. + 7-?-1929
Tyler Walter F, 80, R. 3, died today in St. Joseph
Hospital, Fort Wayne. An insurance agent in the Kendallville area for
approximately 40 years, he was born July 6, 1891 in Ligonier, the son of Charles
and Maggie (Uhl) Tyler. He married Helen Mortimore Sept. 1, 1934 in Elkhart. She
survives. A veteran of WW I, he served as presiding minister of Jehovah’s
Witnesses in Kendallville for 32 years. He graduated from Northwestern
University and resided in Chicago 18 years. A son, Linn, died in 1943. A
brother, Wilbur, survives in St. Petersburg, Fla. Funeral Sunday in
Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home. Burial, Lake View Cemetery. + 6-?-1972
Tyler William Raymond, 54, died Tuesday at his home in Ligonier. Funeral
was Friday. Burial, Oak Park Cemetery. + 2-?-1942
Tyler Zelta, 92, 206 W. Third St., died Friday in Strawberry
Village Nursing Home, Ligonier. A lifetime area resident, she was born Nov. 19,
1886 in Millersburg, the daughter of George and Susan (Hyer) Fahl. On Jan. 16,
1919 she married the late Freeman (Ed) Tyler in Ligonier. She is survived by 2
daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Pufahl and Janet Tyler of Ligonier; one granddaughter,
Mrs. William Lapham; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services today
in Oak Park Cemetery. + 5-?-1979
